Wei Wuxian gets the surprise of his life. The product of this kicks off a few things: namely, Jiang Yanli finally getting sick of her parents, Jiang Cheng Getting A Grip, and Lan Wangji fistfighting his uncle in a Denny's parking lot.
That last one might have been exaggerated.

As if to emphasise his point, he smacked his hand against the painting. He must have infused his hand with qi, as there was a flash when he tapped the paper, and the totally-not-talismanic-symbols glowed. Most of the class instinctively ducked, but nothing happened, and nothing seemed different when they looked up.
Shoulders relaxed, and subtle sighs of relief were breathed.
And then a voice came from the front of the room, by Lan Qiren’s desk. ]
During the guest lectures, Lan Qiren accidentally triggers an array that shows a glimpse into the future.
It's certainly educational.

The gun is loaded. His finger is on the trigger. The wry smile that appears on Klein's face is instinctual, a protective mechanism to hide the fear and the shame and even the hope, but when Klein lifts his eyes to meet Audrey's gaze, he does not pull away.
"But as The Fool."
Or: After the Hall of Truth, Klein realizes a little something about himself, who he wants to keep by his side, and who will be there without him even needing to ask.
