Salem’s eyes burned.
“OZMA–!”
Tick. Tock. Tick.
Time slowed to a crawl, distorting the air around them. Ozpin was panting heavily, and Oscar could feel blood dripping from his nose, proof that he was pushing them both to their limit. Then a green light began to fill the room. It emanated outward from their chest, building in strength, almost blinding. The hum of magic soared in their souls and Ozpin quirked his lips in a small smile.
“Let’s get you out of here,” he said softly. “What do you say?”
Oscar let his presence lean against Ozpin’s in their shared mind, exhaustion and gratitude swirling in the soul link.
‘Please.’
Anywhere was better than here.OR: When Hazel helps Oscar escape from Salem, things go a little differently. Salem catches on too soon, Ozpin is desperate to get Oscar to safety, and the rescue party doesn't arrive. A rushed spell, a misplaced semblance, and a little bit of bad luck create a twist in fate that nobody - not even Ozma - could have predicted.
(OR OR: Thanks to an escape attempt gone wrong, Oscar gets blasted back in time, drops out of the sky in Mistral, and lands at Qrow's feet. Oh, and he's been turned into a bird.)

📎 (1) AttachmentI found this little guy on my desktop yesterday, messing around with some stuff. He emailed himself (???!) to you afterwards. A few times, actually; there was an orange one here before as well. Do you know anything about this? I swear I'm not making this up, and I really need someone to tell me my PC is not haunted by the ghost of every childhood scribble that didn't make it to the refrigerator or whatever. The mystery is driving me insane.

Summary

Summary
The world is full of magic, and those who can use it. Some people (hybrids and not) can harness that magical energy and use it to their advantage. Some hybrids have specific magical abilities and can only use magic within their species skillset. (Aetherborns can heal, blazeborns can wield fire...enderians can teleport from location to location.) But alongside these, there are also those with the ability to wield and control magic in a way that is only limited by their creativity and the strength of their magical core.
Witches and familiars exist as two sides of a similar coin, with both having magical abilities of their own. Familiars are also gifted the genetic ability to transform into a specific animal (whether fully or partially) and they have a skill most others do not: they can channel and amplify other mages' magic to strengthen spells. When bound together via a magebond, a witch and familiar with the right magical chemistry can become a powerful force to be reckoned with.
Most mages use magic in day-to-day life for nothing more than everyday tasks...but some have more ambitious endeavours in mind.
(OR: An MCYT AU where the Soulbond concept from Double Life is translated into a magical world.)

MY ALL TIME FAVORITE SPIDEY FIC xD Good god, it's iconic. First of all the concept is just - mwah. Beautiful. But the execution is glorious. The depth to which the boys go to make their doc seem real - plus carrying it over into real life, so that Peter's classmates were well aware of how "exhausted" he was? Dude. Genius. I WISH this was real if only so I could have been part of the experience in real time. Not to mention the side snippets of off-camera antics and planning - just - god. So, so good. Read again on a rainy day!
