An unknown Gifted has shown up in Yokohama and the ADA is tasked with making contact with her. A simple assignment, really: pay her a visit, find out what her ability is capable of, and serve her a summons to present herself to the Special Ability Department for registration.
“That must have been her ability, Fear of Flying…” Kunikida huffed, sitting down heavily on the bed. He produced a handkerchief from his vest pocket and mopped at his neck. Why did he feel so warm? “Is everybody okay?” he asked, looking up to find the others standing still as statues, gazing down at him with laser-focus.
Atsushi was standing near the doorway, his own face flushed and his eyes glassy, staring at him strangely – as if the weretiger were starving and Kunikida was a piece of meat. Tanizaki, too, looked oddly distracted. Slowly, the two boys began to descend upon the befuddled older man on the bed.
“Dazai, do something!” Kunikida hissed, a sudden, unsettling heat roiling the pit of his stomach.
“I’m sorry, Kunikida.” Dazai took a step forward, subtly adjusting himself in his pants. “But have I ever told you how juicy your ass looks in tan polyester?”

“Do I look like a writer?” Oda furrowed his brow at his odd companion.
“I don’t know. What does a writer look like?” Dazai shrugged and grinned disarmingly. The man was handsome, Oda realized. An odd mixture of playful and sad. Maybe lonely, just like him.
“Well.” Oda took another sip of whiskey to hide his discomfort. His cheeks flushed and he convinced himself sternly it was due to the alcohol, nothing more. “I’d like to write. But I can never come up with the ending. Seems like sitting down to write is easy. But the endings… those are harder.”
“Yes,” Dazai agreed solemnly. “I’ve read a few books where… I think I would’ve been happier, never having reached the end. You know what I mean, Oda? If I’d never known the end, I could’ve imagined it had gone on forever. And anything was still possible.”
