Erik never expected to survive the confrontation on the roof. Now he must start life over in a new town, far away from Paris, where he finds fulfillment as a talented florist. Being thrust into the public is terrifying, but comes with its own rewards including the budding friendship of a local seamstress.

Summary
After the events of the Phantom of the Opera (2004), Erik is on his way out of the burning theater when he hears a cry for help; a young former chorus girl has been caught in the rubble, and Erik must decide what to do.
But there's a twist: she is blind.
Upon finding out she is pursued by an abusive crime lord, a letter from Christine convinces him to take the girl to safety. However, her vulnerability tempts his controlling tendencies again, and it's only a matter of time before he has to address his demons.
Or, author wishes Erik got a happy ending but acknowledges he did so, so many things wrong. He needs to sit in the corner and think about what he did first.Updates as often as I can gather my brain-chickens into their coop for an extended period of time.
Violence tag is for just-in-case. There are a few sword battles and sword-related injuries and extremely vague references to torture, but nothing above canon-typical. It's not even graphic, really.
