Rubbing the tears away, he coaxes once more. “He’s been making you awfully cry a lot, Charlie,” he muses, leaning down until he was a breath further from Charles. Patient, glacial eyes bore into frantic, viridian ones. Not a word from his beloved, who trembled softly in his hands.
“I’m starting to see, that’s perhaps,” he whispers, pausing slightly to look thoughtful. The calm before the storm, before he kills the fragile dove of hope in Charles’s heart. “I’m starting to think, it’s all you. Not Hamilton or Frederic, nor alexandra, or your luck.”
Max smiles, a terrible, little thing. “It’s you.”

Still, Franco liked mysteries, and over the next few days, he somehow found himself listening to Deep Dive into Lewis Hamilton's Lore while doing laundry. Through all the victories, controversies, and scandals, one story stood out above everything else. Alba's mother, a beautiful young model who had died in a skiing accident when Alba was only six months old. She probably couldn't even remember having a mother. Whenever Franco thought about it, his chest tightened.
The other discovery was that Lewis Hamilton was hot as fuck.
