Summary
Rusty, a Scottish wildcat kitten is taken from his cosy zoo home and is introduced into world of the Courts, where groups of cats just like him live in a world where lineage and leaders rein supreme and death stalks the paw steps of all cats.
Alone and afraid, the kitten is taken by a family of the Thunder Court and renamed Fire.
But not is well in the land of the Courts, war looms on the horizon as elders are killed and the Court of Rivers threaten to destroy all Fire holds dear. Will he, along with his friends Grey and Sand be able to stop it?

I was deeply disappointed to miss out on the sights and entertainment of the city. My governesses consoled us with the promise of a garden party, just the four of us.
It was in preparation for this festive occasion that we found ourselves in my room, looking over my silk evening frocks and assisting each other in our toilet. Carmilla brushed out my hair, her clever fingers caressing my scalp and sending delightful jolts of pleasure down my spine that seemed to pool and settle between my legs.

Since she’s come by, crashed here in a (fortuitous?) accident, Laura’s had strange dreams. Carmilla sleepwalks, and she also walks around unknowingly, wanderingly, even when she’s awake but Laura’s in the land of dreams, in the dead of night.
One night Laura awoke and Carmilla was standing right beside her, by her bedside, her nightstand pulled apart so Carmilla could look at her even closer. In the moonlight, Carmilla’s eyes were almost red. Laura blinked slowly, stupidly, and then said, “Did you get lost?”
Carmilla replied, “No, of course I did not get lost.”
So Laura offered: “Would you like to come to bed with me?”
