Summary
Clark never used his powers to spy on his children. That didn’t mean he didn’t use his powers to check on them at times, but that wasn’t the same thing at all. Spying was seeing what they were doing for no reason other than he wanted to know or catch them doing something. Checking on them was because he’d heard, seen, or felt something that made him concerned there might be something going on with one of them that he needed to help with or address.
Conner was at the age (and of the personality type) that keeping an ear out when he had a girl over was just smart. Recently though, Clark had found himself nursing a concern that he wasn’t sure was warranted or not. He wasn’t sure what to make of some incidents involving Conner and Tim.
