Golfball finds herself hesitating, fists clenching and unclenching in an unsuccessful attempt to calm her sudden nerves. She swallows, hard, and decides to take a shot in the dark.
“Because I care about you,” she admits, staring at the concrete. The world falls silent for a moment, and then two, and on the third she finally meets Pencil’s watchful and curious eyes.
“...What?” Pencil finally breathes out, arms now limp at her sides.
Golfball and Pencil get into an argument, again. It ends differently than either of them thought it would.
