Groke is an old Scots word meaning "someone who stares at you while you eat, hoping you'll share".
Mine is a drabble. My journey was earlier, and shorter.

Inspired by a wonderful chapter in the fic 'Gastr-AU-nomy' by 105NorthTower.......they wrote Strike as Captain of a cruise liner.....there was an amazing description of him wearing a sweater knotted to cover his epaulettes, and I really liked the idea of Strike in a pristine, crisp white shirt....with aviator shades!!
I also went on holiday to Malta, and we had a rather 'Devil may care' pilot on the out going flight....and thus the story was formed!
SO, here he is as a pilot.....working on a teeny plane, island hopping in the Caribbean.....and Robin has just left Matt before the alter.
She gets on the first plane - which happens to be to the island of Marie-Galante in the Caribbean - hastily arranging a hotel room, which leads to much confusion for Strike (who happens to double up as a bar tender too at the resort......stick with me....this is a finely honed machine!) when he discovers she's staying in the honeymoon suite!
And then the real mix up starts with her thinking HE'S married......then there'll be a plane crash......but it's one of MY fics.....so it'll all be fine!
The language will be suitably 'Strike-esque' - but I'm keeping it as Teen and Up for now. -
