As for Lan Wangji, no one had the right to move with as much speed and grace as he did just then, tugging his hand from underneath Wei Wuxian's just long enough to grab a book from the shelf and return as though he'd never left. It was the book Wei Wuxian had been catching in glimpses ever since Lan Wangji had brought it up to their room at the inn the night they received the summon to return to Cloud Recesses. The book Lan Wangji had been reading every time Wei Wuxian found him with an idle few minutes in an otherwise busy day. The book he had tried to find just earlier today before traipsing off to the Cold Pond Cave.
He'd been right to be suspicious of it, then, the way Lan Wangji flipped open to a specific page on the first try, as though by memory—or magic.
"It is not too late," Lan Wangji said and pressed the book toward him.

Summary

Wei Wuxian, though, didn't need to be told, and he accepted that he'd lost whatever he might have once had with Lan WangJi. Several nights later, in a moment of drunken weakness under the melancholic light of a full moon, he tells Lan WangJi the Truth. He'd never needed Lan WangJi to spell out his fate for him - he'd known since he walked out of the Burial Mounds alive.
But one small bit of honesty can go a long way, and Talking is far better than Silence.

Summary
Waking up like a normal human being wasn't entirely a new concept to them, but waking up after they've accepted for a very long time that they would never return back to living?
They don't know how to feel about it.
Especially waking up as him, the person whom they've mourned and grieved for many months.
Now they could only roam around looking for him and they won't stop until he returns back to them, no matter how long it takes.
