Summary
Eddie’s mind wandered to the red folder, tucked high up in the back of his closet. He recalled back to a conversation he had with Buck, almost a year ago at this point:
“It’s an insurance policy; a break glass in case of emergency. A trump card.”
“One I really hope we’ll never have to use.”
“But if we have to, we’ll be really glad we did this.”
When hospital policy doesn't allow Chris, as an unrelated minor, to visit a comatose post-lightning strike Buck in the ICU, Eddie has a solution. Unfortunately, that involves sharing some pretty personal information in a waiting room filled with the 118.

Summary
Okay here’s the actual thing – seeing Buck with Tommy makes Eddie feel physically ill. They’re not super affectionate which Eddie finds perplexing because Buck is a pretty touchy person – standing directly in the personal space of everyone at work, draping himself over whoever is nearest when he’s tired, knocking knees and shoulders with Eddie on calls and in the back of the truck, falling asleep on Eddie’s shoulder when they stay up too late watching sitcom re-runs at Eddie’s place...the list goes on. But with Tommy, Eddie has barely seen them do so much as hold hands.
Eddie blames their usual weirdly polite distance from each other on his reaction to seeing Tommy lean in to kiss Buck. So if anyone asks Eddie was surprised, which is why -
“Hey Buck, I need your help!” Eddie lies like the liar he is, and he can tell Tommy doesn't believe a word Eddie said which isn’t surprising given the way his voice cracked like a pre-pubescent teen.
or
Five times Eddie interrupted when Tommy was about to kiss Buck (on purpose) and the one time he didn’t have to.

Summary
Eddie knew Buck was looking at moving out of the loft. “I’m not a 30-year-old bachelor anymore. I don’t need a damn loft,” he had said a few weeks ago, when he mentioned over dinner and beer that his lease was up in January.
Eddie thought it had meant moving into an apartment that had more than one room. Maybe a one-bedroom kind of thing, with south-facing windows because Eddie knows Buck loves the warmth in winter and a big kitchen because he also knows Buck loves cooking.
But buying a house is a big commitment, and Buck’s kept it a secret from Eddie and it makes his stomach turn in on itself. Buck is gushing about the house, flicking through photos and showing the team and Eddie can’t help but notice the listing’s description.
Beautiful family home with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a double car garage.
Buck buys a house. Eddie spirals about what it means for them.
