Kissing has never done all that much for Steve, if he’s honest.
It's just not really something he's ever given much thought to before - the way someone kisses - despite the fact that he's locked lips with plenty of people. For him, kissing has always been something nice, but not particularly special. It's never been earth-shattering. Never taken his breath away, the way people talk about in movies and books. It's just a way to be closer to someone, and it's nice, but it's never anything more than that.
Then, Steve kisses Eddie for the first time, and suddenly he gets it.

Summary
There’s mud on his hands. There’s mud on his hands and he has to dig deeper, quicker, because Eddie is forty feet beneath him and surely he can’t breathe because the well is gone and Eddie is gone and Buck can’t follow him.
“Eddie,” his throat feels raw, the words wrong to his ears, “Eddie.”
“Yeah,” Eddie says, holding onto him, “I'm right here, Buck, I’m right here.”
“I can’t—” Buck breaks off, his trembling, dirty hand in the air and Eddie must understand because he takes Buck's hand without question and pulls it to his chest, right over his heart.

Summary
“This cannot be happening. This isn’t happening!” Steve pipes up again.
“Steve, baby. Wanna clue me in here?” Eddie asks from his crouched position peering under the kitchen table. It’s got to be around here somewhere.
Then he sees it. A flash of faded denim, peeking out from behind the couch.
Aha!
“Got ya, you little shit.” He mutters, scrambling to snatch it up before shrugging it on over his leather jacket.

Steve has a mild image crisis. Eddie makes him feel better.
Then they come out to their friends. Turns out they all pretty much already knew.

Summary
“Don’t.” Dustin hisses up at him, palm still pressing against Eddie’s stomach. “Can you guys not be gross at least when we’re here?”
Nobody else even cares, Eddie thinks sullenly but he’s still too busy staring longingly at his boyfriend to manage replying at the same time. Dustin’s look of annoyance turns into one of disgust and Eddie subconsciously touches a hand to the corner of his mouth. According to Robin he tends to drool sometimes when he’s looking at Steve. That doesn’t seem to be the case now though and he doesn’t even get a word in before Dustin’s groaning. All loud and dramatic.
