It's the most important event in an omega's life: the pearl ball, where every omega hopes to be claimed by an upstanding alpha. Obi-Wan, in contrast, just hopes to survive the night without becoming a target of ridicule or gossip, given House Kenobi's fall from grace.

“Going into heat, Padawan Kenobi. Your presentation heat, in fact,” the Healer repeats in a matter-of-fact tone. Their voice is as calm and casual as though they are discussing a mundane thing, like the Coruscanti weather, and not something Obi-Wan had never expected to ever hear.
“But I – I’m not an omega,” Obi-Wan says blankly.
For that, the Healer gives him a pointed look, and Obi-Wan abruptly becomes hyperaware of the wet sensation between his legs.

Captain Qui-Gon Jinn of the Riverstone already isn't fond of politicians. This lack of fondness only grows stronger when Senator Palpatine commandeers his ship by royal edict to go wandering about in the abandoned wilds of Coruscant searching for a legendary Wellspring of Youth that probably doesn't exist, especially when he insists that part of that search involves kidnapping a merman.
