Summary
Izuku distinctly remembers signing the adoption papers on a rainy day. It was a little overcast when they brought Aoi home and their baby had no interest in playing with the mountains of toys they’d frantically bought when the adoption was finally approved. Rather she crawled to the balcony doors and banged on them incessantly until Katsuki had picked her up to allow Izuku to open them for her.
It was the first time they’d heard her laugh. When she stuck her tiny fingers past the threshold and into the rain, kicking her feet against Katsuki chest to get closer to the rain. Honestly, what were they supposed to do? Not sit out in the rain so their baby could laugh anytime she got a little wet?

Katsuki doesn't have a habit of breaking promises, but for all that he'd done to Izuku he cannot bring himself to ask for something he has no right to ask for. A love he does not deserve even though he knows it's the oldest promise he'll break. Good thing Izuku isn't one to break his promises either.
