Jason had already checked the depths of the cavern where molten rock flowed in rivers and its heat steamed up through the channels and airways. It beaded upon his brow and dripped in rivulets down the arch of his nose as he sorted through the corrupted gems floating in their protective bubbles. But the fluorite prism—the greens and purples molded together like a wicked, venomous storm—didn’t hover among the gems.
No, Bruce went to greater lengths to conceal the Joker, knowing Jason would hunt him down.

Summary
Beneath the warm scent of sunshine and grass, between the notes of its natural musk, a delicate fragrance clung to its fur. Charles couldn’t quite place it, and with another thoughtful inhale, he turned his face to follow the refreshing notes of citrus-y sweetness and stepped closer to the horse’s withers.
“You smell nice,” Charles said. Then, with another lungful of the sweet air that surrounded Arthur, he pondered the notes of the scent with a thoughtful quirk of an eyebrow. His thoughts couldn’t settle upon an answer, though, when his attention piqued back to Arthur as the man—face flushing, bashful and pretty in the dusting of pink upon his cheeks—ducked his chin to get a whiff of himself.

In which Arthur finds a lilac bush to nap under, and its scent clings to him. When he takes too long bringing some of its flowers back for Mary-Beth and Tilly, they send Charles out after him. And Arthur finds he doesn't mind sharing the little slice of peace he found there with Charles.

“Come on, Jaybird,” Roy ragged with a rap of his knuckles on the dressing room’s door. The handle jiggled with his attempt to open it; and despite the lock’s shaky security, Jason smacked his palm to the door. He heard Roy’s exaggerated sigh through the panel. “I thought you wanted my help.”

Silco was floating. Calm. At peace for but a single moment in which his entire body was weightless, supported in the water’s gentle caress. With his next breath, though, it hit him all at once. The constriction of his lungs, the toxins searing the open flesh of his gut, his chest ablaze as he choked.
The flutter of his heart raced as the image flashed before him of water made wine dark by his blood, of large calloused hands squeezing his throat and holding him under. The shadow of a man—his friend—hung above him, but when he flailed to scrape his nails into the wrists choking him, his hands found nothing—no one—save the tendrils of blood mixing further with the waste of the river.

Red Hood freezes again. Then outright thrashes out, voice raising and almost saturating his modulator. "Don't you fucking dare, you fucking-" A single finger breaching in stops his ranting short. He chokes on an insult instead.
"Stop me then."

Alastor stared at him in silence for a long time. Then, finally, he spoke: “I see Angel Dust has been teaching you filth.”
“Oh, yeah,” said Husk, relief coming over him in a wave as the chain dissipated. “He’s taught me all sorts of raunchy shit. You wouldn’t believe the things I get off to now.”
“Hmm.” Alastor squinted at him and slowly straightened, his expression smoothing back into a tense sort of amusement. “Is this what you think will repel me, Husker? I knew you were a fool, but to be this short-sighted? I’m disappointed in you.”
Husk’s heart sunk. “I-I just...”
Angel gives Husk some advice. Unfortunately, Alastor decides to turn it against him, and Angel is left to pick up the pieces.
