Clint could still work when the fog rolled in— he could still fight, he could still attend briefings and meetings with the team, and he could still talk to everyone like he was really okay. It was just something subtle that would change, and some days it was bigger, and some days he could forget it was there entirely. And sometimes that would go on for months, and he almost forgot what it felt like to feel entirely empty. Those were the good times.
These were the bad times.

She doesn’t remember learning the steps, doesn’t remember learning when to leap, run, pirouette. The movements are buried in her bones, sunk into her blood, and it hurts, the way her toes strike the floor. There’s an ache that builds beneath her sternum every time she finds herself enjoying the dance, (because in the Red Room it was torture. It was a front, it wasn’t supposed to—) but it’s familiar and kind, forgiving in all the ways that matter.
It overwhelms her, sometimes, knowing that she can dance simply for the pleasure of dancing, and every time she catches a glimpse of Tony, hunched over ivory with his eyes shut tight, well.
She guesses it must be the same for him.

The world is a messy place.
Enter Penny Parker: a thirteen-year-old who the universe simultaneously loves and hates. It's fine though because it's a mutual feeling.
Or: I wanted to write multiple short stories about Penny Parker while still having them be directly connected and not a bunch of short one-shots.
Or or: A year throughout Penny's life, featuring an identity reveal, Skip Westcott, and a lot of bonding between Penny and the Avengers. Specifically Clint, Steve, and Tony with tidbits of Sam (and the others, bar the Asgardians, Wanda, and Vision) thrown into the mix.

Summary
Aka Tony builds a bridge out of the ruins of a crappy childhood and thrives.
When Edwin Jarvis is killed, 16-years-old Tony throws away the drugs, the spoiled party girl image, the money, her old "family", and anything associated with Natasha Antonia Stark. She quietly finishes her bachelor's and lives, for the most part, by herself in a small cabin, owned by the late Jarvises, taking it one day at a time.
Four years later, after she inherits everything with the untimely deaths of Howard and Maria Stark, Tony really just wants to be left alone with her four friends: Pepper, Rhodey, Happy, and JARVIS.It all starts when she complains to Rhodey that she has no idea what to do with the money, and he states that if Tony really wants to take a shit on the Stark name (in addition to continuing existing, but that's Tony's words not Rhodey's). She should take Stark Mansion and invite all and any supernatural creatures to help her destroy it, or even better, to make their home there.
Tony, because she's Tony, latches onto the idea and by the end of it, creates a family.
