Summary
When they turn around they see Muriel exit the bookshop and make their way, once more, to the French restaurant.
Nina frowns.
“Are they seriously back to not talking again? They were fine with face to face meetings just a week ago.”
Maggie sighs again. She’s been doing a lot of sighing lately.
“Mr. Fell seems to have hit a nerve with what he said to Mr. Crowley last time.”
“Really? What did he say?”
“The days are getting colder,” Maggie quotes Aziraphale, “please take care of yourself.”
“Ah.” Nina nods, watching the street lamps by the bookshop come to life. “That would do it.”

(or: Aziraphale and Crowley may be stubborn, but they're notoriously bad at staying cross with each other. In less important news, the world is ending.)

Summary
It started like this: A boy with the ability to warp reality met an angel and a demon and he made assumptions.
You might say it started like this: An angel and a demon found a marriage contract hung on the wall of the angel's bookshop. They didn't question it.
It also could have started like this: Once upon a time, the angel told the demon he went too fast. The demon took it to heart.
Aziraphale and Crowley find themselves somehow married. Crowley fears going too fast. Aziraphale forges ahead. Neither know how to ask questions of each other.

Summary
After everything, Aziraphale and Crowley, by unspoken agreement, begin sharing their lives.
---
Why? Aziraphale wanted to ask him, why millennia of the way things were, and now this? But while Crowley seemed to have little issue upending every unspoken rule they’d ever written for themselves, Aziraphale was not so flexible, and they had spent thousands of years never quite addressing whatever it was this had stemmed from. Words, Aziraphale had always felt, were for bickering about where to eat for lunch, or hashing out ontological debates, or other trivial nonsense; there was no need to trifle with the imprecision of language, with phrasing and the possibility of being misconstrued, when it came to important matters if the other person simply understood, without needing it said. Six thousand years ago, when Aziraphale had met Crowley on the wall of Eden, watching the first two humans set out to begin the rest of history, something deep within him, more central even than his Grace, had thought, oh, it’s you, and that had been enough for him--for both of them, he assumed--for three millennia.
However much he wanted to ask, he didn’t know how. The words simply weren’t there.

Summary
Aziraphale took a deep breath and stepped round the corner, trying to school his face into something properly angelic. "Be not afraid," he said. As opening gambits went it wasn't spectacular, but it was traditional and he wasn't up to inventing something on the spot.
The demon Crawly stood there, defiant, a gaggle of children shoved behind him. "I won't let you take them. I don't care what Heaven thinks."
"Be not afraid," the angel said again, focusing on the children who were, in fact, very, very afraid. His voice was going soft, and he resolutely avoided looking at Crawly. "I come not to harm thee."
OR, Aziraphale fell in love on the Ark. Crowley took a little longer.

Bookmarker's Notes
the one where Crowley puts his hand over Aziraphale's mouth every time the angel comes close to falling
“I think I could pour all my sins into your mouth, and they would be made holy,” Aziraphale’s lips said, with absolutely no input from his brain.
