Summary
Peter was going to tell him that he had a son, don't get him wrong, there was just so much stopping him. First, there was the fact that Erik had lost his family before, and Peter didn’t think that he wanted another child, let alone him. A worthless screw up who had lived in his moms basement well passed the age that baby birds are supposed to leave the nest. And second, his father was lowkey a little scary.

“Goodnight, lyubimyy. Sleep tight, I won’t let the little bugs bite.” Ilya pinches Shane’s waist as if his fingers were the ‘little bugs,’ but soothes over the teasing nips with soft touches moments later.
Shane smiles sleepily at the alpha’s words. He drifts off to sleep knowing Ilya will stay true to his promise. He’ll stay with him while he rests and he’ll take care of him when the next wave of heat inevitably strikes.
He’s very good at that. The whole ‘taking care of Shane’ thing.
[Or: Ilya helps Shane through his heat like planned. Not like planned, they end up confessing their feelings.]

He said something he shouldn’t have, didn’t give any thought to how it could be taken, and he knew it the moment it left his lips. Some nights he wants to barge inside Ghost’s room and beg him to just end it all, to smother Soap's misery gone. Soap can’t recall how he went through life before Ghost, but he can’t go on after him.
