Summary
"It isn’t all that bad,” Grantaire says, tail waving around idly. “I mean. I’m better at being a dragon. Better than I was at being human. I was pretty shit at being human.”
“But,” Enjolras thinks about Grantaire’s mismatched hoard and his gruff but overall friendly demeanor. “You’re awful at being a dragon.”
Grantaire responds to that by slamming his tail right into Enjolras’ gut.

Enjolras is a knight in slightly battered armor and Grantaire is the laziest dragon in all of history. The road to happily ever after was apparently paved with much more bickering than Enjolras had expected. (Or the one where curses and emotions make everything complicated.)

Summary
“Who was that?” He asks.
His eyebrows crash together in confusion when Courfeyrac just looks at him. Looks at him and laughs, cracks up completely, actually doubles over from the force of it.
“Courf,” Enjolras entreats, blowing out a breath in quiet exasperation. “Seriously.” He feels like he’s missing the joke here.
“You’re serious?” Courf replies. He straightens up at last, slinging a patronising arm around Enjolras’ shoulder. An echo of laughter still colours his sympathetic tone. “Don’t worry. It’ll come to you.”

Attack the slayer on the Night of Saint Vigeous, Tholomyes told him. Ordered him. Grantaire had been smart, been patient, had lured the slayer to this lovely abandoned church (he likes the symbolism, killing God’s agent in His own house), and it’s still gone all wrong.
The BTVS au we all secretly wanted, where Enjolras is the slayer and Grantaire is a vampire.
