Michaela reeled, visibly caught off guard. Her hand tightened around her glass. "I thought we decided to be friends," she said slowly.

"Do you kiss your friends?"
Francesca looked down at the table. "No."
"Me either," Michaela said, breathing out a laugh.

“Because I just turned down your cousin,” Francesca said matter-of-factly.
Michaela could not hold back her laugh.
