Summary
“Do you want to see something really stupid?”
Armand stayed still, brows furrowing in confusion, uncertain at his meaning. Louis pushed off from the wall and stood in front of him - legs apart, chest out, but no longer meeting his gaze.
“I was doing this.”
Armand joins Louis in the shower.

Summary
The game is played by laying Armand flat across the nearest surface; carving a line down the middle of his chest; peeling back the fascia and ribs; and digging around inside. You win if you can find the infection— the misplaced organ or overgrown tumor that has spent the last five hundred years twisting a boy from Delhi into a monster, into something that’s earned every insult anyone’s ever thrown at it.
Every round ends in a draw. Louis has been playing for decades, and at this point, if he hasn’t found the broken cog in Armand’s machinery it probably isn’t there. That doesn’t matter, though, because he knows Armand would kill him if he ever stopped looking.
[guilty dom Louis and guilty sub Armand *almost* try out a new roleplay scenario. No AI.]

"Marius de Romanus is alive."
That's a name Louis hasn't heard spoken in years. Sure, he thinks after a beat of stunned silence. "How long have you known that for? That another thing you've been lying to me about?"
"Two weeks. I've known for two weeks."

Summary
Over the last thirty years, Armand has come to find he likes being the boy’s keeper. He enjoys responsibility. In another life he thinks he could have been a father— and a better one than Daniel, at that. He can see the appeal in taking something young and empty and filling it with all the things he believes a person should have. He was young once, and emptier than Daniel has ever been. Despite everything he remains grateful to every hand that ever pulled him out from nothingness.
Grateful is one word for it. Obligated is another.
[Four decades of Armand checking in on Daniel and reporting to Louis. No AI.]
