    Summary

    托付孤注之赌至死无悔。

Glancing away to the passing forest, I say, “There is a custom in the Ghost Realm. If a ghost has a beloved, they’ll entrust their ashes to that person.”

Interest piqued, His Highness says, “I didn’t know the Ghost Realm had such a romantic practice.”

“Mn. But few have the guts to do it.”

His Highness lets out a wistful sigh, and I look back to him. “It must be truly heartbreaking, if a ghost gives it all for love and loses everything.”

I breathe out a laugh. It has surely happened to some of the idiot ghosts in my city.  I casually say, “What’s there to fear? If it were me, once I give my ashes, I’d have no regrets. It doesn’t matter what they do with the ashes, if they want to trample or scatter them for fun!”

TGCF imagined from Hua Cheng's POV, with a small twist: the second shackle that disperses Xie Lian's luck also binds the weather to his emotions. As they say, weather can feel ruled by luck, like an ironic twist of fate.

Or: How Hua Cheng falls in love with him, not just as a god, but as a person and friend too.
