    Geo grows up in a cruel world, mostly by himself. He teaches himself kindness and he teaches himself how to take care of people, which comes in handy whenever he comes across a new runaway kid in the Land of Lost Things. He tries to behave like a parent would, even though he never knew one. He tries to give the kids what he thinks they need, even when it feels wrong. He gives them what he would've liked to have when he was their age.

    It's not really such a hard task as it might seem... until Cole arrives and everything turns upside-down.

    Sickness, to Geo, was a thief. A cruel thief.

    It stole his sense of smell, his taste, and only gave some of it back in the end.

    It stole his energy and his capacity to even think at points.

    It stole his memory, and only left the most major things in his life as crumbs for him to remember, whilst the rest of his mind starved.

    He could survive off the crumbs, but he certainly wasn’t thriving.
