His thoughts were interrupted by another barely suppressed groan, followed by a whispered, “Fuck.”
For a moment, Alan wondered if the normally self-composed lord of Cheetham Hall was having a cheeky morning self-pleasure session right there next to him, and he was building up to make a pretend-angry comment about how if his lordship found himself in need of relief, he surely was more than enough of a bastard to wake Alan up properly and ask for it, when another bitten-off hiss made him reconsider.
