Zoey is far gone, so focused on trying to send herself over the edge, that she can’t hear the sound of someone knocking on her bedroom door and calling for her over the sound of the blood rushing in her ears and her own grunts of pleasure. “Mhh fuck, Miraah- Rumi-” She practically growls out their names.
The door opens.
“Zoey? Are you okay? It’s getting pretty late- oh.”
Shit.
That voice makes Zoey freeze. Her muscles tense up entirely and her hips stutter to a stop. She lets out an involuntary whine at the feeling of being so close yet so far. It was almost painful.

Mira and Rumi send Zoey a photo and a voice message to rile her up. It works.

Rumi’s mind wanders, desperate for a change of subject. Her gaze lands on the two women who’ve been repeatedly plaguing her mind ever since she saw them step out of the limousine. Mira grins and sips on her drink, listening intently to whatever Zoey’s saying, the shorter girl gesticulating her hands wildly in the air. An ache settles in Rumi’s sternum, and that thought, that possibility—the possibility that this show can actually work—rattles through her skull.
“Hey, Celine?” she starts, not looking away from the view ahead of her. “I know it’s unconventional, but can I give out two First Impression Roses?”
Celine considers her words and follows her gaze. She presses her lips into a thin line, then she shrugs in acceptance. “Sure. After all, you’re the Bachelorette.”

Here was the deal. Mira and Rumi hadn’t been ready for kids. They weren’t even vaguely planning on having them. But it had been six years. Mira had stayed with her when they found out she was pregnant, because it was the right thing to do and Mira was a good person.
But Rumi is lonely. And here comes Zoey, bright and joyous, smelling like a sugar cube that could dissolve in Mira's coffee scent.
“Listen. I know your thing is complicated. Like, more complicated than I can properly appreciate. But I don’t do like, casual hookups that don’t mean anything. I can take things slow, but I’m not going anywhere. I like you, y’know it?”
