Summary
Otabek could see it now, a faint line of blood trickling from the heavenly body's hair down to the side of his neck. It came from a circular hole right on the side of his head, jagged and rough. He could see through him, right at the wall on the other side of him.
This was either a sign that Otabek should get way more superstitious or that he should stop visiting the punch bowl before gigs.
"Who are you?" Otabek asked, watching the blond man stand up from the floor and turn to him.
"Someone dead," he answered.
"I see that."
He smiled. "I was a figure skater before."
"Really? Me too. Well, I still am."He smiled at Otabek like the little angel statues dotted around the church did.

Otabek realized what Yuri was insinuating and beat him to the punch. “I am. Would you like to join?”
Yuri pretended to consider. “Where is it?”
“The club with the actual DJ booth. The full room with the tinted window. The one we always go to when you’re in town.” Maybe he was laying it on thick, but he really wanted Yuri to tag along.
Yuri sighed dramatically, fighting off a smile. “Well, then I guess I’m forced to go. For the sake of tradition, of course.”
“Of course,” Otabek agreed.Yuri let the joke die and laughed. It was a youthful sound, not like the dry chuckles he tried to pass off for laughter around competitors and interviewers. Otabek used to enjoy those fake snickers whenever he could draw them out, but now that he had tasted the ichor of Yuri’s real laugh, they were fool's gold.
