Summary
“Do none of you care about the children? It’s a bachelor auction, and you, my friend, are a bachelor. Abracadabra, put your name on the list.”
“I can’t,” Eddie repeats. He can’t. He cannot. “I’m not.”
“You’re not? Since when?” Chimney frowns. “Who?”
It’s not Eddie’s fault that, at that exact moment, Buck walks in. So it’s not his fault that he opens his mouth and says, “Buck.”
Or, Eddie trips and falls into a lightly fraudulent HR-disclosed "consensual romantic relationship" with his best friend. Really, if you think about it, it's a win-win.

Summary
Eddie’s hand suddenly trailed up his body to trace over the very spot his birthmark blossomed on his skin. Small, gentle circles with his thumb pressed against Buck’s skin, soothing to the touch.
“It reminds me of a flower,” Eddie whispered, eyes fixated on the pink splotches beneath his fingertips.
Buck smiled at him softly, heart fluttering against his ribcage. “Yeah?”
“Yeah. Just little buds of flowers blooming on your skin. It’s pretty.” Eddie’s eyes softened, and his smile grew peculiar. Fond, even. “They’re even like little hearts.”
Already Buck knew that Eddie was tracing little hearts on his face, wonder filled in his doe eyes, still glassy from his tiredness, but always beautiful.
Or; Buck and Eddie admire each other through stars, love hearts, and a little bit of make up.

Summary
He turned out fine.
Eddie always says that. I turned out fine, I'm okay, it was just how things were. And he's right — Eddie Diaz is the most okay person Buck has ever met, which is either a miracle or an indictment of everything that tried to make him otherwise.
But okay isn't the same as having had everything you deserved.
And somewhere between the clink and the sip and the kiss, between Eddie's hand warm on his leg and the low hum of the evening settling around them, Buck makes a decision that he doesn't announce. Doesn't even hint at.
He's going to fix it.
Not the whole thing; he can't fix Ramon and Helena and every Saturday morning that came and went without X-Men and too-sweet cereal and four hours of nothing. He can't give Eddie back what wasn't given to him.
But he can give him this Saturday. And maybe the one after that.
Or,
Eddie never watched Saturday Morning Cartoons growing up. Buck changes that.

Summary
“Check it out.”
“Why me?!” Buck stares at Eddie, projecting indignance as much as he can through the darkness.
“Big, strong men check out scary noises,” Eddie reasons, still only half-conscious. He wraps himself around Buck’s bicep and drops his head to Buck’s shoulder.
“You’re just as big and strong as I am.”
Eddie shakes his head. “Two inches and twenty pounds. You go, I need my beauty sleep,” he says, lying back down.
The Buckley-Diaz family deal with a(n adorable) home intruder.

Summary
“Morning, champ,” Buck says as he watches Eddie blink awake.
Eddie smiles lazily and throws an arm over Buck’s waist, pulling him closer. “Champ,” he mumbles, laughing fondly. “Morning, handsome.”
Buck isn’t sure what’s worse: that this could be never-ending trial and error, or that he’ll never beat Eddie at his own game. That’s two easy points for Eddie to Buck’s zero.
Buck is desperate to find the pet name that best suits Eddie, because that's what a good friend and boyfriend would do! He's also trying not to say 'I love you' too soon, because it is too soon... right?
