Summary
A brutal assault on the North Pole, the Fire Nation succeeds where it never should have: the moon spirit is destroyed, throwing the world into chaos until Princess Yue gives her life to restore it. In the aftermath, Admiral Zhao’s victory curdles, Zuko is captured by the Northern Water Tribe after failing to seize the Avatar, and the conquered prince becomes a living symbol of everything the war has broken. Katara, promised the warrior’s path she expected, chooses to remain in the North as Zuko’s warden and caretaker, where her pity, fury, and loneliness begin to bind her fate to his in ways neither of them understands.
