"Cya, stranger!" Robin calls before flipping off with a twist of yellow. The strange boy flies to the next building, and Jason watches him leave with pursed lips. Then he closes the window, pulling the curtains shut.
There were a lot of shouldn'ts Jason had done in his life, most of which he wasn't sure whether he regretted it or not. Like how he shouldn't have opened that window, and met boy wonder.

Summary
Tim Drake always knew his time as a Bat was going to be short-lived. All the Wayne brothers had made it clear how unwelcome he was. And Tim had enough self-respect to leave where he wasn't wanted. Besides, if he stayed, he was eventually going to be killed by one of them. So after he completed his mission as Red Robin by rescuing Bruce from the time stream, he left Gotham behind.
But when an old ally calls in a favor, he returns to the city he once called his home. While running into the Bats was necessary for mission success, being forced to spend time with his former teammates is not. And yet the more Tim does, the more he realizes they've changed. It seems as though they regretted their actions and want him back in the family.
And now they have him back in their grasp, they won't let him go again - no matter what.
