Summary
He was a cat.
What a weird thought that was. Weirder still to sit inside it, to feel it in his paws and a heartbeat that ran far quicker than his own ever had. This operational reality was…difficult to accept, he had to admit, but Bruce was a pragmatist. He would adapt.
Currently, Bruce has four paws, a tail, and a list of reasons why Hal Jordan is not his first choice for anything. Too bad he’s the only one close enough to help.

He was shoving a fistful of fancy mystery quiches in his mouth when the door to his closet opened.
“Occupied!” he called, like he was in a toilet stall. Which probably told him a lot about his social instincts under pressure. It came out as a muffled ‘O-u-ied’ because his stupid mouth was full and he was actively trying to hide the canapé tray under the armchair.
“Oh,” a deep voice said from the door. “I didn't realise this room was taken.”
After being enlisted to a fancy party well beyond his class, Hal finds himself in the company of a handsome stranger.

Summary
It had been a Wednesday. Hal had been relaxing in the Watchtower common room with Barry on his left, Ollie on his right. They’d been arguing about something – politics, maybe? And Hal had looked at Batman, collected all the ambient evidence, and figured out his identity.
No applause, please. Hal was a humble man.
Now that Hal has found out Batman's identity, the next course of action is to mess with him. Or hit on him. Whichever comes first.

He looked at Bruce, standing with his shoulders squared and his profile set in that expensive way that used to put Jason’s guard up on instinct (before he’d lived here long enough to realise that Bruce just naturally looked like that). The uncanny stillness of him. The set of his jaw. The refusal to concede a single inch of ground on something he'd already decided. All of that pride.
He looked at Lantern. All forward momentum and barely-contained energy. He looked pissed, but the kinda pissed that resembled enjoyment if you squinted. It was the expression of a guy who wanted to be heard and was also, somewhere underneath the frustration, not entirely miserable about the company. Lantern was always like that with Bruce, even though he’d often misjudge or misunderstand the way B went about life. One might say he was filled with prejudice…
It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single weirdo in possession of a billion bucks, must be in want of companionship. Unfortunately, Bruce doesn’t seem to be doing much to fix that.
That’s okay, because he has Jason, and Jason has a plan.

Summary
The kid looked up at him with narrowed, very blue eyes. He was pretty young, but Hal couldn’t for the life of him pin down his age. He had the height of a nine-year old, but the little frown of a pre-teen. A friendly t-shirt with a moth on it, but the general know-it-all air of a kid who was older than he looked. His socks didn’t match, he had scabs on his knees, and he was currently conducting a very thorough inspection of Hal from boots to ring. The whole thing took about four seconds.
“Can you make chicken soup?”
Today's the day. After five years of it building up, Hal is finally going to ask Bruce out on a date, and nothing is going to stop him. Except, maybe, this random kid he found in the Manor.

Screw Bruce.
Screw him and his flexible definite of six o’clock, Hal didn’t need him to have a good time. If he couldn’t be bothered to show up on time to reap the benefits of a sure thing, then he was just going to have to miss the opening act. Cause and effect, baby.
It’s date night, and Hal has very important plans to pig out to his favourite Latin soap opera and maybe get lightly laid. But Bruce is almost thirty minutes late, and Hal’s never really been a patient guy.
