Summary
Ever since she could remember, Persephone Jackson always had weird dreams. She watched as the Gods fought the Titans. Watched the birth and stories of gods like Ares and Hermes. Accompanied heroes like Heracles on their quests.
Her dreams followed her into real life when she was seven, when she woke up screaming, blood in her mouth and electric shocks along her arms. When her mom cradled her in her arms and asked her what was wrong, she told only about dogs chasing her. She said nothing about the satyr, the pain of having her chest gouged into, or the numb feeling of her body morphing into a tree. Somewhere nearby, a Daughter of Zeus gave her life to protect her friends.
When her mom told her stories of demigods and gods, she didn't tell her she already knew. That she had seen the likes of Perseus slaying monsters to protect his mother, had seen her namesake given to Hades with only the consent of Zeus, had seen a silver eyed goddess protecting women and children.
Persephone told her mother none of this. Though young, she had also seen what happened to those like her. Those who saw. She was no seer, and would not suffer their fates. She would just paint her dreams away and say nothing of them.

Summary
Perse was beginning to lose her mind—well, more than she already had. She'd been having the same dream every night for the last few weeks. To a normal person, that was nothing to write home about. To a demigod, it was strange but still nothing out of the ordinary. But Perse was different. Her dreams had always shown her more than most, even by demigod standards. And while they had sometimes repeated themselves, it had never this frequent. Every morning, Perse woke up with her veins burning from a poisoned tree and the smell of rotten eggs of a powerful monster clogging her nose.
Perse realized that her repeated dream wouldn't stop, not unless she fixed the problem. The problem being, the dying tree that held the soul of Thalia Grace, Daughter of Zeus.
But...what did Grover have to do with it?

Summary
It was happening again. Perse was having the same dream over and over again. Only, instead of a grassy summer hill, she was on a snowy cliff, the shadow of a castle in the distance. She woke up again and again with a feeling of cold dread soaking her bones.
She didn't want to accompany Thalia and Annabeth to Westover Hall. Her dreams had told her what would happen if she did. The Twins of Hades huddled by the edge of the cliff, eyes filled with fear as she protected them from a danger Perse could never see. Perse jumping to protect Thalia from the same unknown danger.
Her dreams always ended the same way—her falling from the cliff, Thalia desperately trying to save her as someone held her back.
Perse really didn't want to go to Westover Hall. she knew nothing good would come from it.
But Grover had asked for her help, and she could never turn down a friend in need.
Perse was beginning to realize she should've.
