Summary
“Would you ever want this outside of a dream?” Lord Beneviento finally asked. At some point, she must have moved so she was laying pressed flush against you again, speaking into the back of your skull. Before you could begin to come up with a reply, you felt something twitch against your head where her eye would be.
Right.
“No.” You said honestly, your words beginning to slur as you succumbed to exhaustion, “I like this. You’re so warm. I still hate you, I’ve just… been slipping up lately.”
“You don’t have to hate me."
“Maybe not here,” you conceded, “but in real life…” you drifted off for a moment, watching the fireplace crackle and flicker, “this is the oddest dream I’ve ever had.”
“Maybe not here?” Lord Beneviento prompted.
“Maybe not here,” you hummed, your other hand coming up to run over the lord’s nails, picking at the chip in her polish. She let you.

Summary
You'd been instilled with the belief that first impressions were everything, capable of lasting a lifetime.
The first time you met Lord Beneviento, you gave her a concussion. The second time, you slapped her boob.
Yet by the ninth time, she was sitting at your family dinner, listening to your brother rant about his favorite book while your mom complimented her cooking. Your father talked to the lord about woodworking over dessert and your duck had settled happily on her lap while the doll maker gingerly stroked his feathers.
You were beginning to think first, second, hell, even *fifth* impressions didn't dictate what could be.
Through the terror, then startling fondness, you found a friend.
Maybe even more.Series

You were Donna’s prized doll. Maybe you were a little too close to real for her to be entirely comfortable around you, you didn’t blame her. She was shy.

Summary
As different from the rumors as the manor turned out to be, you found one to be true.
It was lonely. As guilty as you felt for thinking it, a demonic doll and a lady shrouded in black didn’t fill your need for connection. Not that you wanted it to be filled by anyone else. You just wanted to see the lord’s face. To hear her hum in the kitchen, maybe to hug her or be hugged once in a while. God, you didn’t even know it was possible to be as touch-starved as you’d become. Sometimes you fantasized about bumping into Lord Beneviento, just to feel a warm body up against yours, something solid and real and… her.
Sometimes you wanted to feel her. In ways you dare not explore.
