Alastor frowned down at the pot in front of him. He sighed, then dropped to his knees, hands clasped in front of his mouth as he shut his eyes and bowed his head.
“What are you–”
“Sh!” Alastor took a deep breath, then whispered, “Dearest mè… my manman, I am so, so sorry for what I am about to do. Look away now, if you must.” He stood, brushed off his knees and apron, and hissed, “You are so lucky I like you, Voxxel.”
“What are you doing–?”
“I–” Alastor cracked his neck, first to the left, then the right, then whispered, “-- am about to commit the most disgusting of sins. Against my mother– my manman– no less!”
“Alastor, what the fuck.”
“I’m about to make my food more palatable for a–” Alastor shuddered, then whispered in disgust, “-- white man.”

Stolas nodded in sympathy. "Is there anything I can do for you?"

"Lay down," Blitzø ordered, already off of the couch.
Stolas laid on the couch with a soft smile.
Blitzø kissed his forehead and ran his claws through Stolas' head feathers. "Grab your book."
With gentle hands, Stolas cradled his borrowed book to his chest.
Climbing onto Stolas' lap and chest, Blitzø laid his head on Stolas' chest feathers with a contented purr. "Read to me."

"One minute!" Husk called as Angel started to approach the end of the candles.
"Hold on!"
Husk laughed. "No real rush, Sweetness, promise. I'm teasin' you."
Angel finished lighting all of the candles, all of the flames too close together to be told apart. Carefully, he brought the cake over to the table.
"Happy birthday to you~"
Husk opened his eyes with a smile, eyes going wide as he looked at the flaming cake.
"Happy birthday to you~"
"Anthony!" Husk laughed, leaning away from the high flames.
"Happy birthday, dear Francis~"
Husk's eyes softened as he looked up at Angel.
"Happy birthday to you!"

Stolas turned around to hug Blitzø close and nuzzle his beak into Blitzø's shoulder.
"M'kay," Blitzø chuckled. "Good Birdie. You think we could move to the couch? Or the carpet, at least? We can put all the pillows 'n cushions on the floor 'n make a nest."
Nodding, Stolas used the counter to pry himself off of the floor and to his feet. He stared absently at the tiled floor.
"C'mon," Blitzø whispered, large hands wrapping around one of Stolas' to guide him to sit on the couch. "Siddown, Stols. I've got ya."
Stolas allowed Blitzø to lay him down on the couch, nuzzling the imp's hip when his skull met Blitzø's lap.
"There's my guy." Blitzø smoothed out Stolas' puffed-up feathers with gentle fingers. "Just relax. Listen to me, 'n the traffic outside."

"Vox?!" Alastor shook Vox by the shoulders and, when he didn't respond, laid him down on the bed and pulled off his shoes. "I swear, of all the times to stop responding..."
Vox's screen switched to flashing 'VOX.EXE HAS CRASHED, PLEASE REBOOT YOUR VOX AND REMOVE EXCESSIVE STIMULI'.
