Summary
Things are tough after the battle at Mount Othrys. It's especially difficult since the old praetor is dead and has been replaced by Jason Grace.
Jason never wanted to be praetor. Especially not now. He doesn't know how to handle what happened. He watched his first friend in the legion die. It feels like it was his fault.
Reyna doesn't know what to do. She feels like the world just collapsed. Her former colleague is dead and she couldn't do anything about it. It feels like the spear was in her chest all along.

Summary
The moment Jason spoke, he could see Thalia's face twist in slight confusion as she took in his appearance. He must have said something wrong, or done something wrong. Maybe she was the wrong person. Maybe he'd simply make an inaccurate assumption.
Jason realizes that he wasn't always exactly who he thought he was. It leads him down a spiral of wondering if he ever was who he thinks he is.

Summary
Tell me don't so I can crawl back in.
Leo awakes one night with an awful feeling, despite not dreaming of anything and nothing in the bunker seeming amiss. He sneaks out in the middle of the night to go check on his cabin and friends, just to alleviate his sudden nerves. When he tries to check on Jason, he finds something that makes his blood run cold.
Jason is tired. He regrets so much. He doesn't know why he did the things he's done, but that's all in the past now. The way he sees it, there's only one way to repent for his crimes and ensure that he'll never do such things to his friends. He almost hopes someone stops him before he can go through with it.
