“Haithoo— Al-Haitham.” Kaveh’s tone is curt, as if admonishing himself for the honest slip of his tongue into a familiarity they’ve long since lost. “Just what exactly do you intend on doing here?”
Al-Haitham almost frowns. “...practicing…?” He says, unconvincingly. “Or do you, genius setter as you are, not think you need any?”
“What? I— You— Al-Haitham—!” Kaveh blusters. Al-Haitham has to stifle a grin at the tell-tale way his ears and nose flush when he’s embarrassed. “I know you’re trying to work me up, you know. You’re not slick.”
“Oh? Am I, now?” Al-Haitham hums, as if he’s calmly musing to himself and not extremely distracted by the way some of Kaveh’s hair comes untucked as he huffs, tossing his head to the side. “Are you worked up, then? Does that mean you’ll toss to me?”
