Vox looked at himself in the mirror, feeling self-conscious.
He knew it was ridiculous, that Ike would never, ever say anything bad about what he was wearing. And especially not something like this, a pink cardigan and some hair pins with strawberries on them: he knew the novelist would love it. He just wasn’t used to wearing something this cute, despite liking how it looked.

"What got you so frustrated this time?" asked Eki, sounding both amused and bemused.
The novelist sighed and leaned back against the sofa, turning to look at his boyfriend.
"I want to write a good murder, but my knowledge mostly comes from crime shows and movies." The grimace on the red-haired man perfectly expressed his feelings. "Yeah, I know, most of them are really inaccurate. I need to think of something that's realistic and is also good enough for the police to be completely flooded and unable to catch the murderer, but I have nothing."
Ike groaned, letting his head fall back and staring at his ceiling in the vain hope it'll come up with the solution for him.

“Yes”, said the demon, enthusiasm clear in his voice. “It has been too long since we went out together.”
“And so you’ve decided to organize a date at a mall. What an incredible idea.”
“You’re so ungrateful”, he pouted. “You’ll thank me by the end of the day.”
“I highly doubt it”, snarked Eki.

Summary
The sun is burning, his shoulders and head feeling almost painful from the intensity, but Vox refuses to move from his bench.
From here, he has a perfect view on the church doors on the other side of the street. It would probably be ironic to many, a demon suffering from the heat a few meters away from a blessed place, all because he’s waiting for an angel. Maybe that’s what he deserves for his past crimes and for all the ones he’ll undoubtedly commit in the future.

Consciousness came back to him in waves, and if he had been a dramatic person, he could have wept in relief from not being awoken brutally by his alarm for the first time in too many weeks.
He opened his eyes to see his sweet boyfriend still sleeping and smiled instinctively. He had missed this view. They had both been very busy with their work but Ike in particular had been pushing himself too hard, going to sleep after him and waking up before him. He had barely seen him for the past week. The dark eyebags on his face were worrying, but Box was confident he’d feel better in a few days. They had promised each other they would spend their week off lazing around and not doing anything important.

Summary
He closed the door behind him with a sigh, leaving behind him the noises of the outside world.
That outing had almost turned into a disaster. Everything had started perfectly, until it hadn’t; not only did his victim almost manage to escape him, they also almost ran into a cop. He managed to snatch them just in time to avoid attention, but it had been too close for his liking. He had been cocky and it almost came back to bite him in the ass. At least he got to make them pay for his mistakes and make them suffer for a long time before killing them.
Despite that, he still felt tired and frustrated with his evening. He would have to be more careful next time.
“Welcome back, Eki”, came the soft voice of his partner.
He looked at the angel standing in their living room, a mug of tea in his hands.

“Why are you staring this time?”
The unimpressed voice of Eki brought him back to Earth, and he looked up to meet his eyes.
“If you tell me you’re developing a foot kink, we’ll have a problem.”
“Eki! What’s wrong with you?” groaned his other boyfriend.
“I’m just looking at your shoes!” He defended himself. “Doesn’t it hurt to wear heels all day long?”
The two men shared a look and shrugged at the same time.

“I won!” exclaimed Vox, followed by happy monkey noises.
Box sighed but couldn’t hold back a smile, looking amusedly at his alter ego. Eki watched him stretch before moving backwards until his back was resting against the sofa on which he was sitting, and leaning against his leg.
“Should you really be that proud of winning against someone who doesn’t know the game?” pointed out the serial killer, his fingers tangling in white hair.
The demon pouted at him. “Way to deny me my pleasure.”
His smirk widened, and he looked intensely at his boyfriend.
“Don’t tempt me.”

“Aren’t we glad we came in so early”, murmured Box next to him, and he had to agree.
At first Vox had protested when they planned on arriving a good hour and a half before the movie would start, saying they didn’t need to try this hard for him. Of course they both had been quick to tell him it was worth it, and it really was. Vox had been ardently following the development of that movie for months and so there was no way they’d miss the chance to see it at the theater because they arrived too late. And based on the long queue behind them, it was a good thing they decided to get there earlier.
“Thank you”, said Vox, still looking a bit flustered about it.
