Skyrim's at peace and the Dragonborn's hung up her adventuring gear to take care of her little girl and be Queen. The Companions meanwhile are suffering a little - peace means less banditry, a free Reach means no trouble there and a place for rogue mages to go study legitimately, and they can only point Cicero at wildlife for so long before he becomes bored. So when a job comes up in the Pale to look into a crypt that might be being used for arcane rites, Eola's only too happy to point him at the foe and let him get on with it, little realising Dimhollow Crypt contains far more than just beasts...

Summary
Fourteen years after the fall of Corypheus, and the continents of Tamriel and Thedas discovering each other, the Dragonborn Inquisitor has gone on to become Empress of Tamriel, deal with her Dominion archrivals, and raise her also Dragonborn children, the oldest of which is now grown-up, a university graduate, powerful mage in her own right, possessed of a strong sense of social justice... and chafing at the restraints of being a princess. The solution is risky, but no Nord's ever feared risk and adventure. Secondment to the Shadow Dragons seems like just the thing... but other forces are moving in the background, forces set in motion millennia ago, and coming to the fore in the aftermath of a war that was a triumph for the Empire but devastating for the elves of the Aldmeri Dominion. As ancient elven powers rise from darkness, and Princess Maia starts uncovering secrets of her own family's past, bringing the light has never looked like a harder prospect, and it's all on three adolescent Dragonborns to save the world.
