Ever since he felt the baby kicking that first time, Lan Wangji had become less hesitant to touch Wei Wuxian. Many nights now he rested his palms over Wei Wuxian’s belly and rubbed over it tenderly, both of them delighting when the pup would respond with little movements. It had been a little embarrassing for Wei Wuxian at first, but he now treasured such moments and looked forward to Lan Wangji’s strong, gentle touch that made his chest rumble pleasantly with purrs.
Lan Wangji’s thumb rubbed tenderly over the bump. He finally exhaled. “I trust Wei Ying.”

Honestly, part of him began to wonder if Lan Wangji was only acting this way because he was an omega now. If Wei Wuxian was still an alpha, there was no way Lan Wangji would do this for him. There would be no reason to. Take away the fact that he was pregnant and an omega, and you just had Wei Wuxian, and well, there was no way Lan Wangji would be so close if it was just him.
At the end of the day, their whole relationship now existed only in the hourglass of this unique circumstance, and once the sand at the top ran out, there would be no more excuses for them to be together.
(With the pup due any minute, Wei Wuxian knows he has a choice to make soon.)
