Maybe he shouldn’t be that surprised then, when Husk decides to hold his hand that night, under the premise of making sure the bruising on his wrist isn’t as bad as it looks. The tingles are back, a mix of good and bad that sends a literal shiver down Angel’s spine as he fights to not pull his hand away. “You sure you don’t want me to ice it, Legs?” Husk’s voice is quiet but Angel feels wrapped up in it, drunk in his rumbling tone despite not sipping the lemon drop Husk made him yet.
“Yeah, it’s okay. Thanks, Husky.”
“Not a dog,” The cat grumbles as he always does when Angel calls him that, and the spider laughs in return as he always does. Their game of push and pull is well-versed by now, though the pushing has started going a bit farther each time. Angel looks at their hands, still entwined, Husk shifting so he can lace his claws between Angel’s fingers as gently as possible. It makes him so happy, but it also feels so wrong. His fingers feel itchy all over, but he won’t let it win. He won’t let himself ruin this, won’t push Husk away no matter how bad it gets.

The cat hums in place of a reply, grabbing a glass and rag to wipe it with to keep his hands busy. “Lust not the top option?” He offers, watching as Angel smirks in reply and pops the cherry in his mouth. He pulls out the stem moments later, tied in a perfect knot, and drops it into the empty glass.
“Wanna know a secret, Whiskers?”
Husk meets his eyes for a moment, and the spider’s smile is hard to decipher. “I died a virgin.”
