“I’m Captain Rogers,” Steve said, once the Winter Soldier had joined them and took off his motorcycle helmet, shaking his mane of hair free. “You must be the Winter Soldier.”
“That’s what they call me,” the Winter Soldier replied. His mask took up three quarters of his face and his eyes were hidden behind a pair of goggles, but Steve could still hear the hostility in his voice.
Steve pasted on a smile and stuck out a hand for him to shake. “Welcome to the Avengers.”

Summary
The worst thing about being all the way down in Jamaica after a shitload of aliens attacked New York City is that all of the flights to New York City have been canceled.
Bucky can’t imagine why no one wants to go there. The threat has passed, the airports are all still standing, and people have places to be, damnit.
People like him. People who have seen long-lost dead pals come back to life on the screen and who can’t afford to let any grass grow under their feet or those pals will find new ways to risk their lives before they can get a proper scolding in for dying in the first place.
A direct sequel to Revenge (best served screaming).

Summary
When an experiment to improve the effectiveness of the Winter Soldier’s supersoldier serum is a little too successful, James regains his mind and his memories. After breaking free from HYDRA’s grasp, he finds the world is infested with HYDRA. Desperate for purpose, he puts the muzzle of the Winter Soldier back on to fight against his old tormentors from the shadows.
When New York is attacked by aliens, the masked Avengers assemble. Not knowing who this new superhero team truly works for, James tries to find out while still hunting HYDRA. When it becomes clear to him that the Avengers can’t be trusted, he decides the best way to protect the world is to do it himself. So, the Winter Soldier founds a terrorist organization.

Summary
I, like many of you, have been watching What If...Season 2. After watching episode 2, that takes place in 1988, I found myself disturbed. I’ve always suspected, but never really had it confirmed until that episode. When the Winter Soldier comes off the plane, we first see him in his uniform and mask, Howard and Peggy have a brief conversation in which they confirmed the rumors that it was Bucky. They knew. I guess I thought that there was no way that my thinking could be truth, yet, there it was, on screen, and my heart broke. They knew what had happened and they did nothing. That got me thinking about Steve coming out of the ice and Bucky being there. Then, I started thinking about what if Bucky let it slip that they’d known? What would Steve’s reaction be to that information? So, here we go, into the dark recesses of my brain.
