Summary
He was halfway down the corridor when he felt it. It was only a subtle thing, the tiniest flicker of something darker. He most likely wouldn’t have felt it if he hadn’t purposefully been checking as he always did before going to bed. The magic of the sanctum was dormant, tired, and warm as it was most evenings.
