“I never thought you’d be the fathering type.” Natasha’s smirk is wicked and amusing. Steve probably would have laughed if he weren’t so disoriented right now.
Tony shrugged, lifting his coffee cup up like a toast. “Yeah, well, I never thought we’d ever be able to sit in the same room without trying to kill each other again. Things change, Nat.”
All of Steve’s thoughts come squealing to a record-scratch stop as Natasha’s words catch up to him. The fathering type, she’d said. Fathering? And Tony hadn’t denied it. Not even a little bit. “Wait a minute. Was that… your… son?”

Summary
Steve shifted his attention to her and the two of them shared a look. Whatever he seemed to be looking for in her endless green eyes, he didn’t find. He sighed, giving up. The captain opened his mouth, about to say something when the doors to the lab slid open and he was interrupted with a sob.
Their heads snapped in that direction, instantly on alert.
Steve watched confused as Agent Coulson walked in, a crying child in his hands, both looking distressed. He glanced at Banner, expecting to find some form of regnesion on the man’s face but he found nothing. The man looked as confused as Steve felt. Natasha didn’t seem affected at all either. She remained expressionless as always, eyes trained on the crying child. A well hidden flash of curiosity appeared momentarily on her face, Steve barely caught it.
“What happened?” Tony asked, sounding panicked. He rushed to step forward, putting his hands out to accept the crying boy into his own arms.

Now he just has to survive the year and get into MIT without letting his extended family drive him crazy. The Avengers might be superheroes, but they're mostly super-sized pains in Peter's ass. Spoiler, he loves them anyway. Juggling school work, college applications, Tony Stark's 'how to be heir to a multibillion dollar company' boot camp (patent pending), and Spider-Man duties is harder than it looks.
