There's a lot of fics out there that not only hate on Anakin Skywalker, but also just leave him out of his own stories and the stories of the characters who love him (especially Obi-Wan). This collection is not just for Anakin-centric stories, but also stories where he is an important supporting character to the lead.

Summary
After losing his hand on Cloud City and discovering that Darth Vader is his father, Luke thinks things over and comes to the conclusion that a) Vader is actually on the Rebellion's side and just hasn't realized it yet, b) Vader needs his help, c) Vader needs to figure out that he and the Rebellion want the same things, and d) the best way to accomplish both b. and c. is to (obviously) surrender to Vader and refuse to leave him alone, trusting in the Power of Love to change Vader's ways.
Leia, Ahsoka, and the rest of Luke's friends in the Alliance disagree with this, but they can't get Luke to leave, and Vader can't kill them because it would destroy his new relationship with his son (it's not that Vader is attached to them at all -- no, no). Admiral Piett is forced to open up the unused guest quarters on the Executor as the Sleepover to Restore the Republic (And Maybe Save Darth Vader in the Process) drags on and grows to unreasonable proportions.

It would be easier if:

“General?” Rex’s voice echoes in his ears but it's muffled, like Rex is miles deep under water. “Do you know that woman?”
“I think she’s…” Anakin is nine-years-old again, turning away from the hut he grew up in with nothing but a bag over his shoulders and sand in his boots. He’s 19-years-old and Owen Lars tells him his mom hasn’t been on Tatooine in almost five years. Anakin swallows thickly, “I think she’s my mom.”
The woman, Anakin’s mom, raises a shaky hand to press against her lips.
She used to kiss his temple, Anakin remembers, and the sand engrained in both his skin and the cracks in her lips would scratch against each other.
Anakin wants her to kiss his temple, wants to feel the grit of sand scratching against his skin.
She moves first, or maybe he does. Or maybe the two of them spur into motion at the same time, like engines on a podracer.
