Summary
Eyewitnesses say that HRH Princess Penelope and Colin Bridgerton, younger brother of the current Viscount Bridgerton, have been spotted repeatedly together across campus this term. Onlookers say there is definitely a royal romance brewing.
Penelope scoffs as she texts back to her private secretary, Rae. Early on, she fought the need for a private secretary at all, and certainly doesn’t need one at Cambridge, but has found that it does actually make her life easier on the rare account she has to mingle with the rest of her family or partake in royal events. In this instance, Rae jumps in and assures Penelope that the Buckingham Palace press team is on it.

Read Chapter 3
Pen has been studying at Cambridge for two years. Colin has been there for two years too, after deferring to travel for 3 years. Anthony asked him to get close to Pen, so that she’ll go into bat for the Bridgertons to keep the viscountcy, because it looks like the king (Pen’s father) may take it back due to them suffering some financial losses. And that will mean Colin will have to give up his fuckboy lifestyle. She has no friends so it’s easy to strike up a friendship, building on them knowing each other through El.
Pen kisses Colin at a Halloween party and he kisses her back. But after avoiding him for a week things seem fine between them.
El is studying at Oxford and as their contact dwindled and El was bust socially, Pen just didn’t respond to El’s message about a year ago.
