Work Text:
Reki went to the skatepark alone today; this was pretty abnormal for him. He always goes with Langa, but Langa was doing something that he refused to tell Reki about.
Reki spent most of the time he was skating to the skatepark wondering what Langa was doing that he was being so secretive about.
================
Reki had been at the skatepark for about an hour now, endlessly practising the same trick over and over. He finally landed the trick perfectly. As he was celebrating, he saw a drop of water hit the ground, then another, and another. It quickly started to pour.
He sighed and tucked his skateboard under his hoodie.
The walk home was long; he didn't go to his usual skatepark this time, so it was a bit farther of a walk.
================
As soon as Reki got home, he ran up to his room, grabbed new clothes and a towel, and got in the shower.
========Langa=======
Langa spent most of the morning in his room; he had only come out of his room to get ready for the day and eat breakfast.
The rest of the morning he spent making paper roses in his room. Langa has had a crush on Reki ever since they first met, so he figured that this would be a cute way to tell him. Reki had said that he loved roses, but didn't like keeping them because of how fast they die.
========5 days later=======
Langa put the bouquet of paper roses in his backpack and headed downstairs. He was about to get out the door, but instead, his mom noticed before he could leave. "Where are you going?" Nanako asked. "To Reki's house." "Ah, have fun, dear!" Nanako yelled as Langa walked out the door.
========Reki=======
Reki went to his room and laid in bed watching skate videos.
While he was lying in bed, he kept sniffling.
================
"Reki! Langa is here!" Koyomi yelled from downstairs.
Reki ran downstairs and greeted Langa with a smile.
Reki grabbed Langa's arm and practically dragged Langa to his room.
"Wasn't the plan to meet at the skatepark?" Reki asked as he sat on his bed.
"Yeah… But there's something I'd been meaning to tell you." The words practically slipped out of Langa's mouth before he could stop them.
Reki furrowed his eyebrows.
Damn it, why did I say that now of all times… I have no idea what to say… Well, I have to say something now, Langa thought.
"I've developed feelings for you, and I was wondering if you would want to go on a date…" Langa said nervously.
Reki softly smiled and covered his mouth. Reki nodded and quickly got up to hug Langa.
Langa's eyes widened, feeling a mix of shock and happiness.
"Oh, I forgot. I made you something." Langa said as he reached into his backpack to grab the paper bouquet.
"Dude, you made these?" Reki said in shock.
"Mhm." Langa replied.
Reki started to smile and tear up. "Thank you so much." Reki said, trying not to cough.
================
Reki and Langa laid next to each other in Reki's bed, trying to plan what they were going to do on their date.
They finally picked a restaurant they both liked and a time that worked for both of them.
"You know, it's funny that you said something today, cause I was planning to ask you out on the way back from the skatepark… which we never went to." Reki casually said
Langa sat up quickly. "You have to be kidding."
"Nope, I've been planning to ask you out for months. I've honestly liked you since the day we met. I just thought you didn't like me back." Reki replied.
"There's no way. I've liked you since the day we met, but I thought you didn't like me back. That's why I didn't say anything sooner." Langa replied.
"There's genuinely no way." Reki laughed.
================
The two spent the rest of the afternoon cuddled up in Reki's Bed like they had been dating for months, Reki's head sitting right underneath Langa's chin.
"Can I kiss you?" Langa whispered to Reki.
"WHAT?!" Reki yelled as he turned as red as his hair. "I mean, yes. I just wasn't expecting you to ask that so casually."
"Oh… I'm sorry, did I make it weird?"
"No, no! Not at all!" Reki shook his hands side to side.
Langa smiled, then kissed Reki's forehead, then his cheek. Reki was getting redder after each kiss, but right before he kissed Reki's lips, Reki remembered that he was sick.
"Wait!" Reki yelled right before Langa's lips could touch his.
"I'm sick. What if I get you sick?" Reki said.
"It's fine. If I have to get sick to kiss you, it will be worth it." Langa softly kissed Reki's lips.
Reki could feel Langa smiling and couldn't help but smile back.
Reki put his hand on the back of Langa's head to deepen the kiss.
Reki's face looked like he had spilled red paint all over himself. He had never been more in love with someone.
Reki pulled back and buried his face into Langa's shoulder.
"Are you okay?" Langa asked as he twirled a strand of Reki's hair.
"Yeah… ""Are you sure?"
Yeah, it's just… you're so kind, and handsome, and a very good kisser." Reki said, Langa's sweater muffling his words.
Langa's cheeks turned a dusty shade of rose, then a bright shade of red.
"I'm sorry, did I make things awkward?" Reki looked up.
"No. I feel the same way about you." Langa said, kissing Reki's forehead.
Reki smiled softly.
"You know, you look very cute when you smile like that."
"Stooooop." Reki buried his head back into Langa's shoulder.
Boys! Dinner is ready!" Masae yelled from downstairs.
The two both sighed that they had to get out of bed, but they did have to get up before Koyomi got sent up to Reki's room to yell at the two.
Reki gave Langa one final kiss before opening the door to go downstairs.
