Summary
Since leaving seminary, Vincent has lived a life absent of any stillness but that which can be cultivated from within. To him, life in the Vatican seems almost the opposite - men who live in stillness, who must generate all their sound and fury themselves. Thomas, at least, does not seem to feel the need to take up space, to make big expansive gestures simply to fill the room.
