"Check this out," Caleb tells him. With a flick of the wrist he enters the game with his own avatar, approaches Jay-Den's, and takes its hand.
"I do not understand. Is this a romance game?"
Caleb feels heat begin to rise across his body. "No," Caleb exclaims, blurting it out too quickly and with far too much protest. "No. You have to touch the other player to begin the game. See?"
It takes a moment to load, but the wall in front of them transforms into a wide screen, projecting the image of a medical bay operating room into their surroundings. Jay-Den looks around, looks at the screen, then back at Caleb, his eyes so beautiful in their confusion.
"A surgery game?"
"Nah, that wouldn't be any fun," Caleb replies. "It's competitive surgery. I programmed in a bunch of different weird procedures and the first person to complete the surgery and get the patient stable wins. Nahla gave me the idea that I could make you something to help cheer you up about Kyle, and I ran with it."
