Chapter Text
Shockwave was looming behind Prowl. Prowl was working on a datapad, unaware of Shockwave looming behind him.
Shockwave placed a plate of energon cubes on the table and waited for him to notice. Prowl noticed the energon cubes and turned his helm to look behind him.
Shockwave was standing there, said in a monotone voice, "Prowl, your energon cubes are collecting dust."
Prowl shouted, "Shockwave, how did you get in here?!"
Shockwave tilted helm in confusion.
Prowl remarked, "Red Alert must be out if you got here undetected." Shockwave nuzzled him and said, "Jazz is gone."
He has the right colors, he has the same frame, he's smells the same.
But there's something wrong.
Prowl asked, "Shockwave...are you feeling okay? If you can even feel anything at all."
Shockwave said, "I feel different. The Decepticons simply don't appeal to me anymore... I tried talking to mini bots and females but their rejection hurts more than normal. I keep thinking of you. I met a yellow version of myself who was too sweet... "
Prowl questioned, "You've been thinking of me?" Shockwave said, "Yes, ever since I met the other me." Prowl asked, "Why?" Shockwave said, "I don't understand it myself, but I believe the yellow me has something to do with it... He said that, he understands what you said now. Then there's 25 klik gap in my memory."
Prowl asked, "Do you need to see Ratchet or someone?"
Shockwave asked, "Why would I need medical assistance?" Prowl answered, "You have a gap in your memory. You might have memory core damage."
Shockwave hugged him gently.
Prowl asked, "...What are you doing?" Shockwave nuzzled him with care and said, "You are so kind to me."
Prowl blinked his optics.
Prowl questioned, "I am?" Shockwave said, "You haven't run in fear or hit me yet. You want to take care of me." Prowl responded, "I-I don't. I'm not your sire."
Shockwave said, "You aren't like all the others. The females, the mini bots... They hate me." Prowl asked, "What makes you think I don't?" Shockwave said, "You aren't currently hitting me, calling me a freak, or anything else." Prowl responded, "I still think you're a freak."
Shockwave let go of him and left.
Shockwave was in berth, staring at his many mini bot shrines.
Prowl entered the habsuite and questioned, "Shockwave?"
Shockwave rolled over in berth to face a wall in silence.
Prowl said, "I didn't mean for you to run away."
Shockwave stared at the wall and said, "Go back to the Ark. You are just like everyone else."
The shrines don't look as obsessively maintained as they normally are..
In fact, they look neglected by a few days.
There's pillows of various femmes but they are clean and unloved in a corner. There's a dead mini bot Shockwave clearly made himself, seems like he kept bringing it back from the dead but suddenly gave up.
Prowl asked, "Are you...feeling okay, Shockwave? I haven't seen you like this before."
Shockwave said, "You are in danger as long as you are here."
Prowl responded, "You can't hurt me." Shockwave said, "Micro would disagree." Prowl responded, "I'm not a mini bot." Shockwave said, "You aren't, however you are the same as any mini bot. The same as every female too."
Prowl responded, 'I'm not defenseless." Shockwave curled up and said, "You admitted what you thought about me."
Prowl asked, "Is that what this is about?" Shockwave stared at the wall in silence. The wall used to have posters, they are gone and now there's nothing.
Prowl responded, "Come on, that can't be the first time you heard that."
Shockwave said, "It didn't matter before. It never hurt before. It was all useless, meaningless, pointless, little, words until it suddenly mattered more than my lust-based obsessions."
Prowl asked, "Are you seriously developing feelings?"
Shockwave asked, "No. It won't matter soon." Prowl asked, "Why not?"
Shockwave seemed to be doing something but it's unclear what. Prowl asked, "What are you doing?" Shockwave said, "Getting rid of illogical things." Prowl asked, "Like what?"
"Feelings, obsession, myself," Shockwave went to shoot himself with his cannon arm. Prowl grabbed Shockwave's arm. Shockwave said, "Prowl, why are you here? You made your decision and opinions clear. There's nothing to gain from this. The other me made a horrible choice. A choice you'd prefer I correct." Prowl responded, "You are not the other you."
Shockwave said, "You must prefer them. They were kind enough to servo me as yours on a silver platter, how deeply tragic that you didn't want me."
Prowl said, "I...."
Shockwave responded, "... Oh? Come to say I love you? I'm sorry? How unfortunate timing, if this were an earth fairytale then you would have rejected the princess only to return as she hanged herself. "
Prowl questioned, "Why should I have to apologize? We both know it's the truth."
Shockwave shouted, "Then! let! me! die!!"
Prowl said, "No...Optimus would be sad." Shockwave aimed at Prowl. Prowl let go of Shockwave. Shockwave aimed at himself. Prowl exclaimed, "Don't-"
Shockwave said, "Why not?" Prowl answered, "Because...you shouldn't." Shockwave shot himself and fell back on the berth. Prowl checked on Shockwave. Shockwave was cold, half his helm is splattered on the berth and the wall and a few of the shrines, bleeding energon, still alive but not for long unless. Prowl picked up Shockwave and tried to carry him.
Shockwave said with saccharine genuineness, "Prowl, I love you..."
Prowl responded, "Don't mention it. Seriously."
Prowl tried to carry Shockwave to Ratchet.
Shockwave asked, "Prowl, why did you follow me?" Prowl responded, "I don't know."
Shockwave was less sweet, more sad, "I hope you prefer the other me..."
The End.
