31 Days at the Monster Sanctuary

Summary:

Oscar has finally landed a job: resident monster-health general practitioner at the FIA Sanctuary—a hidden community where creatures live peacefully and freely use their powers. He’s excited to get started. There are so many things he’ll get to learn.

But when he starts working, Oscar finds out the job is a little more demanding than he’d thought, working with medical cases more challenging than he’d ever encountered. Those monsters rely on him to keep them healthy, and he finds he may also need them to keep his sanity.

Thankfully the sanctuary’s resident welcome him warmly, and before long Oscar fins himself building friendships… and maybe a little more.

Chapter 1: Intro

Notes:

Welcome readers to this 31 days kink challenge!

I’m trying my hand at writing more smut, but I’ll be honest I couldn’t stop myself from developing the plot, so I wouldn’t recommend skipping ahead to the relationship(s) you’re interested in.

But Capy, monsterfucking in August? Why not October? (shhh, I ain’t gonna have much time to write in October… and maybe I’ve got some other, much more manageable idea for October hehe)

For now enjoy this light, short, non-smutty intro :p

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Oscar unfolds the letter again, still not completely sure what he’s reading is real.

July 16th 2026

Dear Mr. Piastri,

Re: Offer of Employment

I am very pleased to offer you the position of monster-health general practitioner with a start date of August 1st 2026. This is a full-time, permanent job at the FIA sanctuary.

This position will have a starting salary of $XXXX.XX weekly, sent every other week to your personal account. Free housing is provided at address 81 Spell Street within the FIA sanctuary. As the resident general practitioner, you are required to live on-site to provide full-time medical services.

The residence is within the communal area of the sanctuary. All domiciles on the perimeter of Formula Street are private, and may only be accessed by invited guests of the residents or the general practitioner in case of an emergency. Some monsters requiring routine health checks have authorized unannounced visits by medical personnel. Those addresses are marked by a cross on the map provided.

Grocery deliveries arrive every Sunday and Wednesday. Postal distribution is on Sunday. Trash and recycling services take place every other week. All services required for full-time residency are available within the sanctuary. Should you need to order something online, the guards at the gate need to be advised before reception.

You will receive six weeks of paid vacation per year, pro-rated for your first year if applicable. Vacations are to be taken at times mutually convenient between the employer and the employee, with a minimum of 2 weeks’ notice.

The monsters under your care are as follows:

Lando Norris - Tentacle Creature

We are pleased to welcome you to our team and look forward to your response. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at XXX-XXX-XXXX. The residents of the sanctuary have all been informed of your arrival and will gladly help you find your way through the village. The map is also included in this envelope.

And as promised, on another sheet of paper is the map. He can’t believe it. He got the job! Months after finishing his degree in creature health and biology, months of scouring the web in search of a job, he finally gets to put his knowledge to work.

Oscar carefully places the job offer letter down. He picks up the map of the sanctuary, smooths a thumb down the ink, and lets himself take in every street as a smile makes its way on his face.

He’s very excited at the opportunity. Not only does he get to practice his profession, but there is also a witch living at the sanctuary! And as fascinating as his class on magical brews was, he’s absolutely drooling at the idea of working together with an actual witch, and hopefully learning new things from a master of herbal remedies.

Without wasting any more time, he turns his laptop on and starts doing research on the patients newly under his care. Oscar is already very familiar with most of their species, but with so much variety within the list, he wants to make sure everything’s still fresh in his mind.

Monsters already have it hard enough trying to thrive in human-biased societies, God forbid he makes their lives any harder in a place built specifically for their well-being.

He’ll be damned if he isn’t the best monster-health general practitioner there has been within those walls. In two weeks, he’ll have his luggage packed. In two weeks, he’ll be filling up the tank of his car before a long drive to the FIA sanctuary.

He can’t wait.

And who knows? Maybe he’ll get to make some new friends there. Maybe even more.

Notes:

*Claps my hands excitedly* 😈

Tell me what you think! I’ve already written a few chapters, but if there’s anything you’d be interested in reading more about don’t hesitate to comment. I love reading your comments and finding ways to implement ideas in my world.

Also I drew the map! I hope you find it useful, although it is most definitely not needed to understand what’s happening, I just thought it’d be a neat little addition. Plenty of details you can notice in the story that will suddenly make even more sense with the map.

Thank you for reading and I hope to see you tomorrow! <3
