INTERVIEWER: Excuse me, sorry, are you two a couple?
MAN 1: Yes.
INTERVIEWER: Would you mind telling me the story of how you two first met?
MAN 1 grins and steps towards the camera.
MAN 1: Would I?
MAN 2: Oh god.
MAN 1: It was 50 years ago, almost to the day…
INTERVIEWER: 50 years? Congratulations, that’s a long time. How old were you?
MAN 2: We were five, in kindergarten.
MAN 1: It was the first day of school, recess, and I saw this boy sitting by himself. So I walked up to him and asked if he wanted to be my friend. He said yes, and it was the best–
MAN 1 & 2: thing I ever did.
MAN 1: Ignore him. As I was saying, it was the best thing I ever did. We became best friends after that; we were totally inseparable. We’ve always been best friends, first.

INTERVIEWER: And what was your first impression of him?
MAN 2: God, what a question. I think I was just excited about having a friend. I remember thinking he was the coolest person I’d ever met.
INTERVIEWER: When did you become a couple?
MAN 2: I mean, I had the biggest crush on him for years, which was obvious to pretty much everyone except for him–
MAN 1: Hey!
MAN 2: As I was saying, I assumed he knew and was just being nice, not bringing it up, so I moved on.
MAN 1: Well–
MAN 2: I moved on as much as I could, rather. Which wasn’t really much at all, turns out.
MAN 1: I finally got my head out of my ass and realized I was in love with him when we got to college. So I kissed him, pretty much immediately after that.

MAN 1: Well, it worked out, didn’t it?
MAN 2: It did, we’ve been together ever since.
MAN 1: We’ve been in a relationship ever since then. I would say we’ve been "together" for much longer.
MAN 2: Sap.
MAN 1: You love it.
MAN 2: Unfortunately.
INTERVIEWER: 50 years in, what’s your favourite thing about him?
MAN 1: Can I say everything? I mean, he’s incredible. I love his heart. He’s so kind and open, and he inspires me to be a better person every day because of it. And he’s an amazing dad. He's incredibly clever. Super talented. And not to mention hot as hell–

MAN 2: Well, I was going to say his heart, too. I see how much of it he pours into everything he does. And there’s no one I’d rather talk to at the end of the day.
MAN 1 kisses MAN 2 on the cheek.
INTERVIEWER: What’s the secret to 50 years?
MAN 1: Fall in love with your best friend.
MAN 2: What he said.
INTERVIEWER: And what are your names?
MAN 1: Mike.
MAN 2: Will.
INTERVIEWER: Do you have any photos from 50 years ago?
MAN 1 (MIKE) pulls out his phone and opens his camera roll.
MAN 1: Yeah, how many do you want?
Audio and video fade out.
